NCC SEN: Consultation on future of centralised teaching
support services
NCC have just published a consultation on proposed changes to centralised support services for children and young people with special educational needs.
The consultation runs until 31st March 2012. Full details of the proposals and how to submit comments are in the document above.

Sitting Service for Disabled Children
Do you have a disabled child? Would you like to go out in the evening in the knowledge
that all their needs will be met in your absence? A Specialist Sitter will be able to help!
Specialist Sitters are qualified, experienced Ofsted registered childminders who, as part of Northamptonshire's Childminding Network, offer an evening service on weekdays and weekends.
This service is managed by Northamptonshire Childminding Association (NCA).

Saturday and Holiday clubs for disabled young people
This activity is being run for young people aged between 13 and 17,
by Papworth Trust every Saturday and during half-term.
Cost is: £5 - half-day Saturday session, £10- full day during half-term.

IPSEA's Survey on SEN provision in Academies
ADDS UP! provides comprehensive training for parents and professionals who would like
a better understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and conditions
commonly associated with it. These include a range of Autism Spectrum disorders and
include Oppositional Defiance Disorder(ODD – sometimes referred to as Conduct Disorder)
depression and other complex mental health issues.

A support group for families of children with Autistic Spectrum disorder and Aspergers
Northamptonshire is investing in developing a new multi-agency transitions
service for young people 14-25 with learning disabilities/difficulties.
The project to establish a multi agency team is to be re launched in February 2012.
We are looking for young people, family carers and services supporting young people and carers to form a challenge group.
Members can be involved in many ways from attending Challenge Group meetings, giving your views outside of meetings, or joining groups who are working on one area of work such as training.
